Who this notice covers
This policy describes the would.you website, browser-based decision tools, editorial pages and decision journal. The site does not require an account or subscription. Contact hello@would.you if you have a privacy question about the site.
Decision data stays in your browser
Options entered into the decision maker and random picker, Would You Rather selections, matrix names, weights and scores are processed in the page on your device. The application does not submit those entries to would.you. Recent decision-maker picks remain only in page memory and disappear when the page is closed or reloaded.
Local storage
The pros and cons tool stores the two draft lists in your browser under wouldyou-pros and wouldyou-cons so the same browser can restore them. A separate you:growth:v1:would.you record stores the time of the latest visit. It lets the site wait until a later page view before loading the notification service. This storage stays on the device unless browser software or an extension synchronizes it. You can remove it by clearing this site's stored data.
Advertising and push notifications
On a later page view, would.you may load the RollerAds push notification script from sdk4push.com. The script can ask for browser notification permission. Permission is optional, and advertising notifications are sent only after you accept the browser request. RollerAds and its advertising partners may process your IP address, browser or device information, page activity, notification subscription information, an incoming click_id value, and may use cookies, JavaScript or web beacons for delivery, measurement and personalization. Tool entries are not sent to RollerAds.
Your notification choice
You can refuse the browser permission request and continue using the site. If you previously allowed notifications, use the notification or site settings in your browser to block or remove the permission. Clearing would.you site data removes the return-visit marker, but browser notification permission may need to be changed separately.
Technical records
The web host, reverse proxy and security systems may process an IP address, requested URL, date and time, user agent, referrer and error details. These records are used to deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and protect the service. They are not combined with tool inputs because tool inputs are not sent to the server.
Messages you send
If you email would.you, we receive the address, message and any information you choose to include. We use it to answer the request, investigate a correction or accessibility issue, and maintain necessary correspondence. Do not send passwords, financial account details, medical records or other sensitive material.
Publishing systems
The Docs Library integration supplies editorial article text, metadata and cover images for the decision journal. Approved article records are stored in MySQL and covers are converted to WebP. This publication workflow is separate from visitor tool inputs and does not create visitor profiles.
Service providers and disclosure
Hosting, email and infrastructure providers may process limited information to operate and secure the site. RollerAds provides the optional advertising notification service under its own privacy terms. would.you does not rent email addresses or share decision-tool entries for advertising. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or investigate abuse.
Retention and security
Local browser storage remains until you or the browser removes it. A notification subscription can remain until you withdraw browser permission or the provider removes it. Operational logs and correspondence are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, support, recordkeeping and applicable legal obligations. We use access controls and limited data collection, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection concerning personal information held about you. Email hello@would.you with enough detail to identify the relevant correspondence or record. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when the law permits or requires it.
Policy changes
Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new updated date. We will not silently convert locally processed decision entries into server-side profiles.
Evidence and technical references
These sources inform the method and implementation. They do not turn a general-purpose tool into professional advice.
